‘Sport & Physical Activity has always been my outlet. Fortunately, I have been able to translate my passion into a career spanning over 12 years across the Sport and Community development sector. As a person of ethnicity growing up in inner-city Birmingham, it is my ambition to utilise all the experiences afforded to me to make a positive contribution in the community and to play a key role in helping to unlock local people’s power and potential to become future industry leaders.’
Daniel has had a career spanning over 12 years across the Sport and Community development sector. During this period, he has operated at a strategic level for national governing bodies of sport, national charities, and regional development agencies, including England Boxing (the national governing body for grassroots Boxing), national charity Sporting Equals who engage ethnically diverse groups in physical activity and community development and Sports Development, supporting Black Country voluntary sector organisations.
Currently, Daniel is the Co-Founder and Director of Birmingham-based Community Interest Company, Sports Key, improving opportunities for disadvantaged people by utilising physical activity and culture as the vehicle to drive transformational change. Daniel is responsible for the development and implementation of community programmes, whilst also overseeing the growth and sustainability of the organisation.
